It is said: an ear-cut sheep and an ear-cut camel, and one does not say an ear-cut male camel; rather, one says 'maqsu' and 'maqsa'. They abandoned the analogy in this case, because 'af'al' whose feminine is 'af'alaa' is usually from the pattern 'fa'ala yaf'ilu', but this is said as 'qasawtu al-ba'eer', and 'qaswaa'' is outside its usual pattern.

And similarly, a beautiful woman (hasnaa') and one does not say a handsome man (ahsan).
وكان لرسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ناقة تسمى قصواء، ولم تكن مقطوعة الاذن.
And the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, had a she-camel named Qaswaa', and her ear was not cut.

وإذا حمدت إبل الرجل قيل: فيها قصايا يثق بها، أي فيها بقية إذا اشتد الدهر.
And if a man's camels were praised, it would be said: 'There are in them reserves to be relied upon', meaning there is a remainder when times are harsh.
وحكى الفراء عن القنانى: قصيت أظفاري بالتشديد، بمعنى قصصت.
And Al-Farra' narrated from Al-Qannani: 'I trimmed my fingernails' (with emphasis), meaning 'I cut them short'.
وقال الكسائي: أظنه أراد أخذت من أقاصيها.
And Al-Kisa'i said: 'I think he meant 'I took from its extremities'.
قال: وقالت امرأة لاخرى: إن ولد لك ابن فقصى أذنيه، أي احذفي منهما.
He said: And a woman said to another: 'If you give birth to a son, then cut off his ears', meaning 'cut a piece from them'.
ويقال: فلان بالمكان الأقصى، والناحية القصوى والقصيا بالضم فيهما.
And it is said: 'So-and-so is in the furthest place', and the furthest direction, and 'al-quṣyā' with dammah in both.
ونزلنا منزلا لا يقصيه البصر، أي لا يبلغ أقصاه.
And we descended in a place that the sight does not reach its furthest extent, meaning it does not reach its furthest point.
