وغلوت بالسهم غلوا، إذا رميت به أبعد ما تقدر عليه.

والغلوة: الغاية مقدار رمية.
And Al-Ghalwah: the limit, the measure of a throw.
وفى المثل: " جرى المذكيات غلاء ".
And in the proverb: 'The swift ones ran to the extreme distance'.
وغالى باللحم، أي اشتراه بثمن غال
And he bought meat at a high price, meaning he bought it for a high price.
نغالى اللحم للاضياف نيئا * ونرخصه إذا نضج القدور
We buy the meat for guests raw at a high price * And we make it cheap when the pots are cooked.
ويقال أيضا: أغلى باللحم.
And it is also said: He bought meat at a high price.
كأنها درة أغلى التجار بها *
As if it were a pearl for which the merchants paid the highest price.
والغالية من الطيب، يقال أول من سماها سليمان بن عبد الملك.
And Al-Ghaliyah is from perfume; it is said that the first to name it was Sulayman ibn Abd al-Malik.
تقول منه: تغليت بالغالية.
You say from it: I perfumed myself with Al-Ghaliyah.
والاغتلاء: الاسراع.
And Al-Ightilaa': hastening.
كيف تراها تغتلى يا شرج * وقد سهجناها فطال السهج
How do you see it hastening, O Shuraj? * When we made it travel slowly, and the slow travel was prolonged.
وناقة مغلاة الوهق: تغتلى إذا تواهقت أخفافها.
And a fast-moving she-camel of Al-Wahaq: it hastens when its hooves synchronize.
تنشطته كل مغلاة الوهق *
It invigorated it, every fast-moving one of Al-Wahaq.
والهاء للخرق، وهو المفازة.
And the 'ha' refers to the desert, which is the wasteland.
وتغالى لحم الناقة، أي ارتفع وذهب.
And the camel's meat became tough and went (away), meaning it became tough and deteriorated.
فإذا تغالى لحمها وتحسرت *
So when its flesh became tough and it became exhausted *
والغلواء: الغلو.
