And 'al-'uniyyah' (on the pattern of 'fa'iilah') is camel dung that solidifies in the sun, used to treat mange, according to Abu Amr.

And it is said: 'I treated the camel with 'uniyyah',' meaning I applied it to him.

وأما الخافقات فقوله: وأين تقضى المالكان أمورها * بحق وأين الخافقات اللوامع
And as for 'Al-Khafiqaat', his saying: 'And where do the two rulers settle their affairs * justly, and where are the shining stars?'
والمعاناة: المقاساة.
And 'al-mu'aanaah' is enduring hardship.

It is said: 'He endured it,' and 'He endured it,' and 'He himself suffered hardship.'
فقلت لها الحاجات يطرحن بالفتى * وهم تعناني معنى ركائبه وهم يعانون مالهم، أي يقومون عليه.
So I said to her, 'Needs cast a man down, * and they are causing me hardship, like the hardship of his mounts,' and 'they are managing their wealth,' meaning they are taking care of it.
