You say: 'Asa Zayd an yakhruj (Zayd is about to go out), and 'asat Fulana an takhruj (She is about to go out); Zayd is the subject of 'asa, and 'an yakhruj is its complement, meaning 'going out', except that its predicate is not a noun.

As for their saying: 'Asa al-Ghuwayr abūsan (Perhaps al-Ghuwayr will bring forth woes), it is rare and anomalous, with 'abūsan placed in the position of the predicate.
وربما شبهوا عسى بكاد، واستعملوا الفعل بعده بغير أن، فقالوا: عسى زيد ينطلق.
And sometimes they likened 'asa to 'kada, and used the verb after it without 'an, so they said: 'Asa Zayd yanṭaliq (Zayd might go forth).

عسى من الله واجبة في جميع القرآن، إلا في قوله: (عسى ربه إن طلقكن أن يبدله).
'Asa from Allah is obligatory in the entire Quran, except in His saying: ('Asa rabbuhu in ṭallaqkunna an yubdilahu) (Perhaps his Lord, if he divorces you, will substitute him).
