And the diminutive of ṣibyah, by analogy, is ṣubayyah, but in poetry, aṣaybiyah has come, as if it were a diminutive of aṣbiyah.

The poet said: Have mercy on my little ones, who are like partridges moving in the grass.
ويقال صبي بين الصبا والصباء، إذا فتحت الصاد مددت وإذا كسرت قصرت.
And one says ṣabiyy between aṣ-ṣibā and aṣ-ṣibā', if you open the ṣād you lengthen, and if you break it you shorten.
والجارية صبية، والجمع صبايا مثل مطية ومطايا.
And the young girl is a ṣabiyyah, and the plural is ṣabāyā, like maṭiyyah and maṭāyā.
والصبيان، على فعيلان: طرفا اللحيين.
And aṣ-ṣibyān, on the pattern faʿīlān: the sides of the jaw.
عار من اللحم صبيا اللحيين * مؤلل الاذن أسيل الخدين
Bare of flesh, with the sides of the jaw prominent * with pointed ears and smooth cheeks.
والصبا أيضا من الشوق، يقال منه: تصابى.
And aṣ-ṣibā is also from longing; from it, one says: taṣābā.
وصبا يصبو صبوة وصبوا، أي مال إلى الجهل والفتوة.
And ṣabā he ṣabū, ṣabwatan and ṣabwan, meaning he inclined towards ignorance and youthful recklessness.
وأصبته الجارية.
And the young girl affected him.
وصبى صباء، مثال سمع سماعا، أي لعب مع الصبيان.
And he played ṣabāʾan, like samiʿa samāʿan, meaning he played with the children.
وأصبت المرأة، إذا كان لها صبى وولد ذكر أو أنثى.
And the woman had children (aṣabat), if she had children, a male or female offspring.
وامرأة مصبية بالهاء، أي ذات صبية.
And a woman is muṣbiyah (with the tāʾ marbūṭah), meaning having children.
والصبا: ريح، ومهبها المستوي أن تهب من موضع مطلع الشمس إذا استوى الليل والنهار، ونيحتها الدبور.
And aṣ-ṣibā: a wind, and its standard direction is to blow from the place of the sun's rising when night and day are equal, and its opposite is the Dabbūr.
وتزعم العرب أن الدبور تزعج السحاب وتشخصه في الهواء ثم تسوقه، فإذا علا كشفت عنه واستقبلته الصبا فردت بعضه على بعض حتى يصير كسفا واحدا، والجنوب تلحق روادفه به وتمده من المدد، والشمال تمزق السحاب.
And the Arabs claim that the Dabbūr wind disturbs the clouds and lifts them in the air, then drives them; when it rises, it clears them and the aṣ-ṣibā wind meets it, returning some of it upon itself until it becomes one mass, and the South wind joins its followers and extends it with reinforcement, while the North wind tears the clouds.
والصابية النكيباء: التي تجري بين الصبا والشمال.
And the aṣ-ṣābih al-nakībāʾ: that which blows between the aṣ-ṣibā and the North wind.
وصابيت السيف، إذا أدخلته في غمده مقلوبا.
And I ṣābaita the sword, if you inserted it into its scabbard upside down.
وصابيت الرمح: أملته للطعن.
And I ṣābaita the spear: I tilted it for thrusting.
