Ibn Ahmar said: It narrates scattered things thrown on the plain * the sun melts it, yet it does not melt.
ورويت القوم أرويهم، إذا استقيت لهم الماء.
And I fetched water for the people, I fetch water for them, if you fetched water for them.
وسمي يوم التروية لأنهم كانوا يرتوون فيه من الماء لما بعد.
And the Day of Tarwiyah was named because they would quench their thirst with water for what comes after.
