والدجى: جمع دجية بالضم، وهي قترة الصائد، والظلمة أيضا.
And 'al-duja': is a plural of 'dujiyyah' (with dammah), which is the hunter's screen, and also darkness.
وإنه لفي عيش داج، كأنه يراد به الخفض.
And he is indeed in a comfortable life, as if ease is intended by it.
والمداجاة: المداراة.
And 'al-mudajah': is 'al-mudarah' (conciliation).
يقال: داجيته، إذا داريته، كأنك ساترته العداوة.
It is said: I conciliated him, if you appeased him, as if you were concealing enmity from him.
كل يداجى على البغضاء صاحبه ولن أعالنهم إلا بما علنوا
Everyone conciles his companion out of hatred, and I will not openly declare to them except what they have openly declared.
وذكر أبو عمرو أن المداجاة أيضا المنع بين الشدة والارخاء.
