وأحراه الزمان
And time has diminished it.
والحارية: الأفعى التي نقص جسمها من الكبر
And al-ḥāriyah is the snake whose body has diminished from age.
رماه الله بأفعى حارية
May God strike him with a diminishing snake.
ألسنا أكرم الثقلين طرا * وأعظمهم ببطن حراء نارا
Are we not the noblest of the two weighty things, * And the greatest of them in the valley of Ḥirā'?
