An Arab of the desert said to Isa ibn Umar: 'I testify to your understanding.'
تقول منه: فقه الرجل، بالكسر.
You say from it: 'faqiha al-rajul', with a kasra.
وفلان لا يفقه ولا ينقه.
And so-and-so does not understand and does not comprehend.
وأفقهتك الشئ.
