The singular of 'al-ʿaḍāh' is 'ʿaḍāhah', 'ʿiḍhah', and 'ʿiḍḍah' with the elision of the original 'h', just as it is elided from 'shafah'.
إذا مات منهم ميت سرق ابنه * ومن عضة ما ينبتن شكيرها ونقصانها
If one of them dies, his son steals * from the thorny trees whose shoots grow and diminish.
لانها تجمع على عضاه مثل شفاه، فترد الهاء في الجمع وتصغر على عضيهة، وينسب إليها فيقال بعير عضهى للذى يرعاها.
Because they are pluralized as 'ʿaḍāh' like 'shifāh' (lips), so the 'h' is returned in the plural and it is diminutized to 'ʿuḍayhiyyah', and one is attributed to it, saying 'a camel 'ʿaḍḥī' for the one that grazes on it.

وبعضهم يقول نقصانها (الواو) ; لانها تجمع على عضوات.
And some say its elision is (the 'waw'); because they pluralize it as 'ʿaḍawāt'.

This is a path that constricts the constrictors * and thorny trees that cut the binders.
ويقال بعير عضوى وإبل عضوية، بفتح العين على غير قياس.
And it is said a camel 'ʿaḍwī' and camels 'ʿaḍwiyyah', with a 'fatḥah' on the 'ʿayn' which is irregular.
وعضهت الابل بلكسر تعضه عضها، إذا رعت العضاة.
And the camels grazed with a 'kasrah', they graze 'ʿaḍḥan', if they grazed on thorny trees.
وبعير عاضه وعضه.
And a camel 'ʿāḍiḥ' and 'ʿaḍiḥ'.
وقربوا كل جمالي عضه * قريبة ندوته من محمضه
And they brought near every camel grazing * its dew is close to the souring.
وأعضه القوم: رعت إبلهم العضاه.
And the people, their camels grazed on thorny trees.
وأرض معضهة: كثيرة العضاه.
And land 'muʿḍiḥah': abundant in thorny trees.
والعضيهة: البهيتة، وهي الإفك والبهتان تقول: يا للعضيهة بكسر اللام، وهي استغاثة.
And 'al-ʿuḍayhah': the falsehood, which is the lie and slander. You say: 'O for the falsehood!' with a 'kasrah' on the 'lam', which is a cry for help.
يقال فلان (*) ينتجب غير عضاهه، إذا انتحل شعر غيره.
It is said of someone who claims to have composed poetry that is not his own, if he attributes the poetry of others to himself.
يا أيها الزاعم أنى أجتلف * وأنني غير عضاهى أنتجب * كذبت إن شر ما قيل الكذب
O you who claim that I gather * And that I do not claim what is not mine * You have lied, for the worst of what is said is lies.
وعضهه عضها: رماه بالبهتان.
And he slandered him, he accused him of falsehood.
وقد أعضهت يا رجل: أي جئت بالبهتان.
And you have brought falsehood, O man: meaning you have brought slander.
قال الكسائي: العضة: الكذب والبهتان، وجمعها عضون من عزة وعزين.
Al-Kisa'i said: 'Al-ʿiḍḍah': falsehood and slander, and its plural is 'ʿiḍhūn' from 'ʿizzah' and 'ʿizzīn'.
قال تعالى: (الذين جعلوا القرآن عضين).
Allah Almighty said: (Who have made the Quran into divisions).
ويقال نقصانه (الواو) وأصله عضوة، وهو من عضوته أي فرقته ; لأن المشركين فرقوا أقاويلهم فيه فجعلوه كذبا وسحرا، وكهانة وشعرا.
And it is said its elision is (the 'waw') and its origin is 'ʿuḍwah', which is from 'ʿadaftuhu' meaning I divided it; because the polytheists divided their sayings about it, making it lies, sorcery, divination, and poetry.
ويقال نقصانه (الهاء) وأصله عضهة، لان العضة والعضين في لغة قريش: السحر، وهو يقولون للساحر عارضة.
And it is said its elision is (the 'h') and its origin is 'ʿiḍhah', because 'al-ʿiḍdah' and 'al-ʿiḍhīn' in the language of Quraysh mean sorcery, and they call a sorcerer 'ʿāriḍah'.
أعوذ بربي من النافثا * ت في عقد (1) العاضه المعضه
I seek refuge in my Lord from those who blow * in knots, the biting, the slandering.
الحية العاضه والعاضهة: التي تقتل من ساعتها إذا نهشت.
The biting snake and the biting snake: which kills immediately when it bites.
