وستة أيضا بكسر التاء، كما قالوا: حرح.

And you are in your place from Wa'il * like the place of the tick on the camel's posterior.

فهو مجاز، لانهم لا يقولون في الكلام است الجمل، وإنما يقولون: عجز الجمل.

So it is metaphorical, because they do not say in speech 'the camel's posterior', but rather they say: 'the camel's hindquarters'.

وقولهم: باست فلان: شتم للعرب، قال الحطيئة:

And their saying: 'So-and-so cursed (baasa)', is an insult to the Arabs, Al-Hutay'ah said:

فباست بنى قيس وأستاه طيئ * وباست بنى دودان حاشا بني نصر

So he cursed the sons of Qays and the anuses of Tayyi' * And he cursed the sons of Duddan, except for the sons of Nasr.

ما زال فلان على است الدهر مجنونا، أي لم يزل يعرف بالجنون.

ويقولون: كان ذاك على است الدهر: وكذلك على أساس الدهر وإس الدهر، أي على قدمه.
