And you say: The bird incubated its eggs, it incubates them, it incubated them, meaning it brooded them.
وتوكن، أي تمكن.
And tuwakkana, meaning it became settled.
والواكن: الجالس.
And al-wakin: the sitter.
ومن ظعن كالدوم أشرف فوقها * ظباء السلي واكنات على الخمل *
And from the moving tents like the doom trees, over them looked down * gazelles of As-Sali, sitting upon the carpets *
أي جالسات على الطنافس التي وطأن بها الهوادج.
Meaning sitting on the carpets which were trodden by the litters.
والسلي: اسم موضع.
And As-Sali: is the name of a place.
ونصب " واكنات " على الحال.
And 'wakinat' is in the accusative case as a circumstantial adverb (haal).
