Some of it caused blood to ooze, and some of it did not wound the skin.
يقال: مشنه بالسيف، إذا ضربه فقشر الجلد.
It is said: he struck him with a sword, if he struck him and peeled the skin.
ومشنت الناقة تمشينا: درت كارهة.
And the she-camel gave milk reluctantly, giving milk reluctantly: she gave milk unwillingly.
والمشان: نوع من الرطب
And al-mishān: a type of date.
وفى المثل: " بعلة الورشان تأكل رطب المشان " بالاضافة.
And in the proverb: 'The owner of al-warshān eats the dates of al-mishān' by addition.
ويقال: امتشن منه ما مشن لك، أي خذ منه ما وجدت.
And it is said: take from it whatever you can, meaning take from it what you find.
والمشان من النساء: السليطة المشاتمة.
And al-mishān from women: the sharp-tongued, argumentative one.
