وهو أبو سعيد المهلب المزونى، أي أكره أن أنسبه إلى المزون، وهى أرض عمان.
And he is Abu Sa'id Al-Muhallab Al-Muzuni, meaning I hate to attribute him to Al-Muzun, which is the land of Oman.
يقول: هو من مضر.
He says: He is from Mudar.
وقال أبو عبيدة: يعنى بالمزون الملاحين.
And Abu Ubaydah said: 'Al-Muzun' means sailors.
وكان أردشير بن بابكان جعل الازد ملاحين بشحر عمان قبل الاسلام بستمائة سنة.
And Ardashir bin Babakan had made the Azd sailors in the coast of Oman six hundred years before Islam.
ومزينة: قبيلة من مضر وهو مزينة بن أد بن طابخة بن الياس بن مضر ; والنسبة إليهم مزنى.
