And al-futun is also: al-iftitan, it is transitive and intransitive.
وقلب فاتن، أي مفتتن
And a tempting heart, meaning one that is tempted.
رخيم الكلام قطيع القيا * م أمسى فؤادي بها فاتنا
Her speech is soft, her posture is graceful; my heart has become captivated by her.

لئن فتنتنى فهى بالامس أفتنت * سعيد فأمسى قد قلا كل مسلم

والفاتن: المضل عن الحق
And al-fatin: the one who misleads from the truth.
ما أنتم عليه بفاتنين
You are not misleading [us] in what you are upon.
بأيكم المفتون
Which of you is the tempted one?
والمفتون: الفتنة، وهو مصدر كالمعقول والمجلود والمحلو
And al-maftun: al-fitnah, and it is a masdar like ma'qul, majlud, and mahlu.
فتنته تفتينا فهو مفتن، أي مفتون جدا
He tempted him greatly, so he is 'muftann', meaning very tempted.
والفتان بكسر الفاء: غشاء للرحل من أدم
And al-fattan (with kasra on the fa): a covering for the rider made of leather.
فثنيت كفى والفتان ونمرقى * ومكانهن الكور والنسعان
So I adjusted my hand, the saddle-covering, and my cushion; and their place was the saddle-bags and the straps.
