وثفن المزادة: جوانبها المخروزة.
And the thafan of the waterskin: are its stitched sides.
وثفنته الناقة تثفنه بالكسر ثفنا: ضربته بثفناتها.
And the she-camel 'thafanat'hu (struck him) with the kasra, 'thafnan': it struck him with its calluses.
وثفنت يده بالكسر تثفن ثفنا: غلظت.
And his hand 'thafin'at (became calloused) with the kasra, 'thafanan': it became thick.
وأثفن العمل يده.
And the work 'athfanat' his hand.
