وا اهتم له بأمره.

ويقال لما أذيب من السنام: الهاموم.
And what is melted from the hump is called: al-haamoom.

Indeed, we have a well, humoom, which the drawing of buckets increases its abundance. Al-Lihyani said: I heard an Arab from Banu 'Amir say:
إذا قيل لنا أبقى عندكم شئ؟ نقول: همهام، أي لم يبق شئ.
If we were asked, 'Is there anything left with you?' we would say: 'Hammaam', meaning nothing is left.
وأنشد: أولمت يا خنوت (1) شر إيلام في يوم نحس ذى عجاج مظلام ما كان إلا كاصطفاف (2) الاقدام حتى أتيناهم فقالوا همهام
And he recited: 'You prepared, O Khunut, the worst of pains on an unlucky, dusty, dark day. It was nothing but the alignment of feet until we came to them, and they said: Hammaam (nothing left).'
والهامة: واحدة الهوام، ولا يقع هذا الاسم إلا على المخوف من الأحناش.

ويقال للدابة: نعم الهامة هذه.
And it is said of a beast: What a creature this is!
ابن السكيت: الهميمة: مطر لين دقاق القطر.
Ibn Al-Sikkit said: Al-hameemah: a gentle rain with fine droplets.
والهمهمة: ترديد الصوت في الصدر.
And al-hamhamah: repeating the sound in the chest.
