And al-nahm (with sukun): the مصدر (verbal noun) of your saying 'I urged the camels, I urge them' with al-tafḥīḥ and al-tafḥīm, if you scold them and shout at them so they find vigor in their pace.
ألا انهماها إنها مناهيم وإننا مناجد متاهيم
Indeed, urge them on, for they are camels that are urged on, and we are people of rugged terrain.
وإنما ينهمها القوم الهيم والمنهام من الابل: التي تطيع على النهم، وهو الزجر.
And the people urge them on with al-haym, and al-minhām of the camels: the one that obeys the urging, which is the scolding.
والنهم أيضا: الحذف بالحصى ونحوه، لأن السائق قد يفعل ذلك.
And al-nahm also: throwing pebbles and the like, because the driver might do that.
