So Allah the Almighty revealed: (Indeed, it is a tree that emerges from the bottom of the Hellfire. Its طلع (fruit/sprouts) are like the heads of devils).
وأزقمته الشئ، أي أبلعته إياه،
And I made him swallow the thing, meaning I made him ingest it,
فازدقمه أي ابتلعه.
So he swallowed it, meaning he ingested it.
والتزقم: التلقم.
And al-tazaqqum: the act of swallowing.
يقال تزقم فلان اللبن، إذا أفرط في شربه.
It is said, 'So-and-so swallowed the milk excessively,' if he was unrestrained in drinking it.
