And the vowel movement that Sibawayh mentioned is an elided, hidden vowel for a kind of phonetic relief. It is more than 'ishmam' because it is heard, and it is the weight of a vowel even if it is elided, like a 'between-between' hamza, as he said:
أأن زم أجمال وفارق جيرة وصاح غراب البين أنت حزين
Is it that the camels groaned, and you parted from neighbors, and the raven of separation cried, 'You are sad'?
قوله " أأن زم " تقطيعه فعولن، ولا يجوز تسكين العين.
His saying 'A'an zam' has the meter 'fa'ūlun', and the sukun on the eye letter is not permissible.
وكذلك قوله تعالى: (شهر رمضان) فيمن أخفى، إنما هو بحركة مختلسة، ولا يجوز أن تكون الراء الاولى ساكنة لان الهاء قبلها ساكن، فيؤدى إلى الجمع بين الساكنين في الوصل من غير أن يكون قبلهما حرف لين.
Similarly, His saying, the Almighty: (the month of Ramadan) for those who conceal it, it is only with an elided vowel, and the first 'ra' cannot be silent because the 'ha' before it is silent, leading to two consecutive silent letters in connection without a soft letter preceding them.
وهذا غير موجود في شئ من لغات العرب.
And this is not found in any of the Arabic languages.
وكذلك قوله عز وجل: (إنا نحن نزلنا الذكر) و (أمن لا يهدى) و (يخصمون) وأشباه ذلك ولا معتبر بقول الفراء إن هذا ونحوه مدغم، لانهم لا يحصلون هذا الباب.
And similarly His saying, the Mighty: (Indeed, We have sent down the Reminder) and (Is he who guides to truth more worthy) and (they dispute), and the like. And the opinion of Al-Farra' that this and similar are assimilated is not considered, because they do not achieve this category.
ومن جمع بين الساكنين في موضع لا يصح فيه اختلاس الحركة فهو مخطئ، كقراءة حمزة (1) في قوله تعالى: (فما اسطاعوا) لان سين الاستفعال لا يجوز تحريكها بوجه من الوجوه.
And whoever combines two silent letters in a place where eliding the vowel is not valid is mistaken, like the recitation of Hamza in His saying, the Almighty: (then they were not able to), because the 'sin' of 'istif'al' cannot be vocalized in any way.
ابن الاعرابي: رومت فلانا ورومت بفلان إذا جعلته يطلب الشئ.
Ibn Al-A'rabi said: 'Rumtu fulanan' and 'Rumtu bi-fulan' means you made him seek the thing.
والمرام: المطلب.
And 'al-maram' is the sought-after thing.
ورامة: اسم موضع بالبادية، وفيه جاء المثل: تسألني برامتين شلجما
And 'Ramah' is the name of a place in the desert, and regarding it is the proverb: 'You ask me for two Ramahs of snow.'
والنسبة إليه رامى على غير قياس
And the attribution to it is 'Rami' against the rule.
وكذلك النسبة إلى رام هرمز، وهو بلد، وإن شئت هرمزي.
And similarly, the attribution to 'Ram Hormuz', which is a city, is 'Hormuzi' if you wish.
والرام: ضرب من الشجر.
And 'ar-ram' is a type of tree.
ورومان بالضم: اسم رجل.
And 'Rumān' with dammah is the name of a man.
والروم هم من ولد الروم بن عيصو.
And 'ar-Rum' are from the descendants of Rum bin Esau.
يقال رومى وروم، مثل زنجى وزنج، ms1329 فليس بين الواحد والجمع إلا الياء المشددة، كما قالوا: تمرة وتمر، ولم يكن بين الواحد والجمع إلا الهاء.
It is said 'Rūmī' and 'Rum', like 'Zanjī' and 'Zanj'. There is nothing between the singular and the plural except the doubled 'ya', just as they said 'tamrah' and 'tamr', and there was nothing between the singular and the plural except the 'ha'.
