والخضارمة: قوم بالشأم وذلك، أن قوما من العجم خرجوا في أول الاسلام فتفرقوا في بلاد العرب، فمن أقام منهم بالبصرة فهم الاساورة ومن أقام منهم بالكوفة فهم الاحامرة، ومن أقام منهم بالشأم فهم الخضارمة، ومن أقام منهم بالجزيرة فهم الجراجمة، ومن أقام منهم باليمن فهم الابناء، ومن أقام منهم بالموصل فهم الجرامقة.

And al-Khadārimah: a people in Sham. This is because a group of non-Arabs emerged in the early days of Islam and dispersed among the Arab lands. Those who settled in Basra were the Asāwirah, those in Kufa were the Aḥāmirah, those in Sham were the Khadārimah, those in Jazīrah were the Jarājimah, those in Yemen were the Abnā', and those in Mosul were the Jarāmiqah.
