يقال: أعطني جمام المكوك، إذا حط ما يحمله رأسه فأعطاه.

يقال: جم الفرس جما وجماما، إذا ذهب إعياؤه، وكذلك إذا ترك الضراب، يجم ويجم.

وأجم الفرس، إذا ترك أن يركب على ما لم يسم فاعله، وجم.
