والجموم بالفتح من الأفراس: الذي كلما ذهب منه جري جاءه جرى آخر.
And Al-Jumoom (with Fatha) of horses: one from which when a run is taken, another run comes to it.
جموم الشد شائلة الذنابى تخال بياض غرتها سراجا
Energetic in its stride, with a tail held high, you would think the whiteness of its blaze was a lamp.
ويقال: جاء في جمة عظيمة وجمة عظيمة، أي في جماعة يسألون الدية.
And it is said: He came with a great group and a great group, meaning in a gathering asking for blood money.

والجمة بالضم: مجتمع شعر الرأس وهي أكثر من الوفرة.

وجمام المكوك، وجمامه، وجمامه، وجممه بالتحريك، وهو ما على رأسه فوق طفافه.

ولا تقل جمام بالضم إلا في الدقيق وأشباهه، وهوما على رأسه بعد الامتلاء.
And do not say 'Jumam' (with Damma) except for flour and its like, and it is what is on its top after being filled.
يقال: أعطني جمام المكوك، إذا حط ما يحمله رأسه فأعطاه.
It is said: Give me the fullness of the measure, meaning take off what its top carries and give it.
والجمام بالفتح: الراحة.
And Al-Jumam (with Fatha): rest.
يقال: جم الفرس جما وجماما، إذا ذهب إعياؤه، وكذلك إذا ترك الضراب، يجم ويجم.
It is said: The horse rested and recovered, when its exhaustion left, and likewise when it ceased breeding, it rests and rests.
وأجم الفرس، إذا ترك أن يركب على ما لم يسم فاعله، وجم.
And the horse was made to rest, when it was left not to be ridden, and it rested.
ويقال: أجمم نفسك يوما أو يومين.
And it is said: Give yourself a day or two of rest.
وأجم الأمر، إذا دنا وحضر.

وبنيان أجم: لا شرف له.

وامرأة جماء المرافق.

ورجل أجم: لا رمح معه في الحرب.

سمى بذلك لانه كان تعمل به الاقداح من خشب.
