So a man from al-Barājim passed by and smelled the aroma of roasting from the people's flesh.

فظن أن الملك اتخذ طعاما، فعدل إليه ليرزأ منه

He thought the king had prepared a meal, so he turned towards him to partake of it.

فقيل له: ممن أنت؟ قال: من البراجم

He was asked: 'From whom are you?' He replied: 'From al-Barājim.'

فألقاه في النار، فسمت العرب عمرو بن هند محرقا لذلك

So he threw him into the fire, and the Arabs named Amr ibn Hind 'the Burner' for that reason.
