ويقال: هي الفطنة الداهية.

والزوال: الذي يتحرك في مشيته كثيرا وما يقطعه من المسافة قليل.
And 'al-zawwal': he who moves a lot in his gait, and what he covers of distance is little.
وأنشد أبو عمرو * البحتر المجدر الزوال
And Abu Amr recited: * The swift, strong camel, the moving one.
والزائلة: كل شئ يتحرك.
And 'al-za'ila': everything that moves.
وكنت امرأ أرمي الزوائل مرة فأصبحت قد ودعت رمى الزوائل
And I was a man who used to shoot at moving targets once, and now I have bid farewell to shooting at moving targets.
والزديل: الازالة.
And 'al-zuyal': the removal.
وممن أراد ازديالها
And from those who intended its removal.
والمزاولة، مثل المحاولة والمعالجة.
And 'al-muzawala', like 'al-muhawala' (attempt) and 'al-mu'alaja' (treatment).
والله ما كنت جبانا ولكني زاولت ملكا مؤجلا.
By God, I was not a coward, but I dealt with a postponed kingdom.
فبتنا وقوفا عند رأس جوادنا يزاولنا عن نفسه ونزاوله
So we spent the night standing at the head of our steed, it moving us away from itself and us moving it.
وتزاولوا: تعالجوا.
And 'tazawalu': they treated each other.
وزال الشئ من مكانه يزول زوالا، وأزاله غيره وزوله، فانزال.
And a thing moved from its place, it moves a movement, and another removed it and its removal, and 'inzal'.
وما زال فلان يفعل كذا.
And so-and-so has been doing such-and-such.
وحكى أبو الخطاب: ما زيل يفعل كذا، وقد فسرناه في (كاد).
And Abu al-Khattab narrated: 'Ma zayala' doing such-and-such, and we have explained it in (kad).
