And 'al-jadalah' means the land.
قد أركب الآلة بعد الآله وأترك العاجز بالجداله
I mounted the beast after the beast, and left the weak one on the ground.
يقال: طعنه فجدله، أي رماه بالأرض، فانجدل، أي سقط.
It is said: 'He stabbed him and 'jadalahu', meaning he threw him to the ground, so he 'injadala', meaning he fell.'
وجادله، أي خاصمه، مجادلة وجدالا: والاسم الجدل، وهو شدة الخصومة.
And 'jadalahu', meaning he argued with him, is 'mujadalatan' and 'jidalan': and the noun is 'al-jadal', which is intense dispute.
وجدلت الحبل أجدله جدلا، أي فتلته فتلا محكما.
And I twisted the rope, I twist it 'jadalan', meaning I twisted it with a strong twist.
ومننه جارية مجدولة الخلق حسنة الجدل.
And from this is a woman 'majdulat al-khalq' (well-formed) with a beautiful build.
والمجدول: القضيف لا من هزال.
And 'al-majdul' is the robust one, not from thinness.
وغلام جادل: مشتد.
And a 'jadil' boy is strong.
وجدل الحب في سنبله: قوي.
And the grain in its ear 'jadala' (grew strong): it became strong.
قال الأصمعي: الجادل من ولد الناقة فوق الراشح، وهو الذي قوي ومشى مع أمه.
Al-Asma'i said: 'Al-jādil' is from the offspring of a she-camel, beyond the 'rāshiḥ' (newborn), which is one that has become strong and walks with its mother.
والجديل: الزمام المجدول من أدم، ومنه قول امرئ القيس: وكشح لطيف كالجديل مخصر
And 'al-jadil' is the twisted rein made of leather, and from this is the saying of Imru' al-Qais: And a slender waist like a twisted rein, constricted.
وربما سمي الوشاح جديلا.
And sometimes the sash is called a 'jadil'.
كأن دمقسا أو فروع غمامة على متنها حيث استقر جديلها
As if fine silk or branches of a cloud were on its back where its sash settled.
والجديلة: الشا كلة.
And 'al-jadilah' is the mane.

والجندل بفتح النون وكسر الدال: الموضع فيه حجارة.
And 'al-jandal' (with fathah on the noon and kasrah on the dal) is a place with stones.
والجدول: النهر الصغير.
