And al-wafq is from the conformity between two things; like joining.

يقال حلوبته وفق عياله، أي لها لبن قدر كفايتهم، لا فضل فيه.

It is said: His milk-producing animal's yield is sufficient for his family (ḥalūbatuhu wafqa ʿiyālihi), meaning it has enough milk for their needs, with no surplus.

أما الفقير الذي كانت حلوبته وفق العيال فلم يترك له سبد

As for the poor man whose milk-producing animal's yield was sufficient for the family, they left him no fodder.

ويقال: أتيتك لوفق الأمر وتوفاق الأمر، وتيفاقه.

And it is said: I came to you at the opportune time of the matter (li-wafqi al-amr), and the peak of the matter (wa-tawāfāqi al-amr), and its peak (wa-tīfāqihi).

قال الأحمر: يقال: كان ذلك لميفاق الهلال وتيفاقه، وتوفاقه، أي حين أهل الهلال.

Al-Aḥmar said: It is said: That occurred at the appearance of the new moon (li-mīfāqi al-hilāl), and its appearance (wa-tīfāqihi), and its appearance (wa-tawāfuqihi), meaning when the new moon was sighted.

ويقال: أوفقت السهم وأوفقت بالسهم، إذا وضعت الفوق في الوتر لترمى، كأنه قلب أفوقت ولا يقال أفوقت.

And it is said: You nocked the arrow (awfaqta al-sahm) and you nocked the arrow (awfaqta bi-l-sahm), if you placed the notch on the string to shoot, as if it were an inversion of 'afwaqt', and it is not said 'afwaqt'.
