وربما قالوا: سلقيته سلقاء، يزيدون فيه الياء، كما قالوا جعبيته جعباء، من جعبته أي صرعته.
And sometimes they say: salqaytuhu salqa'an, adding the ya', just as they said ja'baytuhu ja'ba'an, from ja'batuhu meaning I prostrated him.
ويقال: سلقها وسلقاها، إذا بسطها ثم جامعها.
And it is said: salaqaha wa salaqaha, meaning to spread her out and then have intercourse with her.
واسلنقى الرجل، إذا نام على ظهره، وهو افعنلى.
And the man is aslanqa, meaning he slept on his back, and it is on the pattern if'anla.
وسلق (1) : لغة في صلق، أي صاح.
And salq: is a dialectal variant of salaq, meaning he cried out.
وسلقه بالكلام سلقا، أي آذاه، وهو شدة القول باللسان.
And he salaqahu bil-kalam salqan, meaning he harmed him, which is the severity of speech with the tongue.

Allah Almighty said: {They attacked you with sharp tongues}.
قال أبو عبيدة: بالغوا فيكم بالكلام.
Abu Ubaidah said: They exaggerated against you with speech.
والمسلاق: الخطيب البليغ، وهو من شدة صوته وكلامه.
And al-mislaq: the eloquent orator, and that is from the intensity of his voice and his speech.
وكذلك السلاق وقال الاعشى: فيهم الحزم والسماحة والنجدة فيهم والخاطب السلاق
And likewise as-salaq. And Al-A'sha said: Among them is resolve, generosity, and valor, and among them is the eloquent suitor.
ويروى: " المسلاق " يقال خطيب مسقع مسلق.
And it is narrated: 'al-mislaq'. It is said: an eloquent, persuasive orator.
وسلقت المزادة، أي دهنتها.
And I salaqt the waterskin, meaning I greased it.
قال الشاعر: كأنهما مزادتا متعجل فريان لما يسلقا بدهان
The poet said: As if they were two waterskins of a hasty one, fresh, not yet greased with oil.
وسلقت البقل والبيض، إذا أغليته بالنار إغلاءة خفيفة.
And I salaqt the greens and the eggs, meaning I lightly boiled them with fire.
والسلاق: بثر يخرج على أصل اللسان، ويقال: تقشر في أصول الأسنان.
And as-salaq: is a pustule that emerges at the base of the tongue, and it is said: it is peeling at the roots of the teeth.
والسلق: أثر دبرة البعير إذا برأت وابيض موضها.
And as-salq: is the mark of a camel's saddle sore when it has healed and its place has whitened.
والسلق: أن تدخل إحدى عروتي الجوالق في الأخرى.
And as-salq: is to insert one handle of the waterskin into the other.
قال الراجز: وحوقل ساعده قد انملق يقول قطبا إن سلق
The rajaz poet said: And his forearm was strong, it had become smooth, saying 'qutba' if it was inserted.
والسلق: بالكسر: الذئب، والأنثى سلقة، وربما قيل للمرأة السليطة: سلقة.
And as-salq: with kasra: is the wolf, and the female is salqah, and sometimes a sharp-tongued woman is called a salqah.
والسلق: النبت الذي يؤكل.
And as-salq: is the plant that is eaten.
والسليقة: أثر النسع في جنب البعير.
And as-saliqah: is the mark of the saddle strap on the flank of the camel.
والسليقة: الطبيعة. يقال: فلان يتكلم بالسليقة، أي بطبعه لا عن تعلم، وهى منسوبة (1) .
And as-saliqah: is nature. It is said: So-and-so speaks by his nature, meaning by his disposition and not through learning, and it is attributed.
وتسلق الجدار، أي تسوره.
And tasallaqa the wall, meaning he climbed over it.
والسليق: ما تحات من الشجر، ومنه قول الراجز: تشمع منها في السليق الاشهب (2)
And as-saliq: is what falls from trees. And from it is the saying of the rajaz poet: It glistened from it in the ash-colored fallen leaves.

And Saluq: is a region in Yemen, to which the Saluqian swords and Saluqian dogs are attributed.
ويقال: سلوق مدينة السلان (1) ، تنسب إليها الكلاب السلوقية، قال القطامى: معهم ضوار من سلوق كأنها حصن تجول تجرر الارسانا
And it is said: Saluq is the city of As-Silan, to which the Saluqian dogs are attributed. Al-Qutami said: With them are predators from Saluq, as if they were roaming fortresses dragging their reins.
