قال: وأصلها بالفارسية " سره "، أي جيد، فعربوه كما عرب برق للحمل، ويلمق للقباء، واستبرق للغليظ من الديباج.
He said: 'And its origin is Persian 'sarra', meaning good, so they Arabized it as they Arabized 'barq' for the load, 'yalmaq' for the tunic, and 'istabraq' for thick brocade.'
