والدلوق: النافة التى تكسرت أسنانها من الكبر فتمج الماء، وهي الدلقاء والدلقم أيضا بالكسر، والميم زائدة، كما قالوا للدقعاء: دقعم، وللدرداء: دردم.
And the daluq: the she-camel whose teeth have broken from old age, so she spits out water, and she is also al-dalqaa' and al-dalqam with kasr, and the mim is extra, as they said for al-daq'aa': daq'am, and for al-dardaa': dardam.
قال أبو زيد: يقال: للناقة بعد البزول شارف، ثم عوزم، ثم لطلط، ثم جحمرش، ثم جعماء، ثم دلقم، إذا سقطت أضراسها هرما.
Abu Zayd said: It is said: for the she-camel after the 'buzul' stage is sharif, then 'awazim, then latlat, then jahmarish, then ja'maa', then dalqam, when her molars fall out from old age.
والدلق بالتحريك دويبة، فارسي معرب.
And al-dalq with harakah is a small creature, a Persian loanword.
