So the king said: 'No free man in the valley of 'Awf.'
أي أنه يقهر من حل بواديه، فكل من فيه كالعبد له، لطاعتهم إياه
Meaning, he subjugates whoever settles in his valley, so everyone in it is like his slave, due to their obedience to him.
