واللمعة من الخلى، وهو نبت. ولا يقال لها لمعة حتى تبيض.

ويقال هذه بلاد قد ألمعت، وهي ملمعة.
And it is said, 'These are lands that have become fertile/dry,' and they are 'mulamma'ah' (fertile/dry).
والألمعي: الذكي المتوقد.
And 'al-al-ma'i' is the intelligent, sharp one.
الألمعي الذي يظن لك الظ * ن كأن قد رأى وقد سمعا *
