Al-faza': terror, which is originally a masdar and may be pluralized as afza'.
تقول منه: فزعت إليك وفزعت منك، ولا تقل فزعتك.
From it you say: I sought refuge in you and I was afraid of you; do not say 'I made you afraid'.
والمفزع: الملجأ.
And al-mafza' is the refuge.
وفلان مفزع للناس، يستوي فيه الواحد والجمع والمؤنث، أي إذا دهمهم أمر فزعوا إليه.

And al-faza' also means aid.
إنكم لتكثرون عند الفزع وتقلون عند الطمع.

والإفزاع: الإخافة، والإغاثة أيضا.
And al-ifza' means frightening, and also aiding.
يقال: فزعت إليه فأفزعني، أي لجأت إليه من الفزع فأغاثني.
It is said: I sought refuge in him and he aided me, meaning I fled to him out of fear and he helped me.
وكذلك التفزيع من الأضداد، يقال فزعه أي أخافه.
And likewise at-tafzi' is from the antonyms; it is said 'faz'ahu' meaning 'he frightened him'.
وفزع عنه أي كشف عنه الخوف.
And 'fazi'a 'anhu' means the fear was removed from him.
حتى إذا فزع عن قلوبهم، أي كشف عنها الفزع.
Until when the fear is removed from their hearts, meaning the terror is dispelled from them.
