وفارعة الجبل: أعلاه، يقال: انزل بفارعة الوادي واحذر أسفله.
And the top of the mountain: its highest part, it is said: Descend by the top of the valley and beware its bottom.

وفرعت الجبل: صعدته.

فإن كرهت هجائي فاجتنب سخطي * لا يدهمنك إفراعي وتصعيدي
If you dislike my satire, then avoid my anger * lest my descent and ascent overwhelm you.
وفرعت في الجبل تفريعا، أي انحدرت.
And I descended into the mountain with tafri', meaning I went down.
وفرعت [في (1) ] الجبل أيضا: صعدت، وهو من الأضداد.
And I ascended the mountain also: I climbed, and it is from the opposites.
وفروع الجوزاء: أشد ما يكون من الحر.

And al-fur'ah: the louse egg, it is pronounced with sukun and harakah, and the plural is far' and fur'.
وبتصغيرها سميت فريعة.
And by its diminutive, it was named Furay'ah.
والفرع أيضا: مصدر الأفرع، وهو التام الشعر.
And al-far' also: the masdar of 'afra'', which is the one with complete hair.
وامرأة فرعاء كثيرة الشعر.
And a woman far'a', with abundant hair.
ولا يقال للرجل إذا كان عظيم اللحية أو الجمة أفرع وإنما يقال رجل أفرع لضد الاصلع.
And it is not said of a man if he has a large beard or mane that he is 'afra'', rather a man is called 'afra'' as the opposite of bald.
وكان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أفرع.
And the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, was 'afra' (full-haired).
وتفرعت أغصان الشجر، أي كثرت.

وتفرعت بني فلان، أي تزوجت سيدة نسائهم.
