باع فلان إبله فارتجع منها رجعة صالحة بالكسر
So-and-so sold his camels and recovered from it a good return (by reinvesting the price).
إذا وجبت على رب المال أسنان فأخذ المصدق مكانها أسنانا فوقها أو دونها
If specific ages (of livestock) became due from the owner, and the tax collector took in their place animals of higher or lower age.
وأتان راجع وناقة راجع، إذا كانت تشول بذنبها وتجمع قطريها وتوزع ببولها، فيظن أن بها حملا، ثم تخلف
And a female donkey and a female camel are 'rajia' if she lifts her tail and gathers her flanks and urinates sparingly, so it is thought she is pregnant, then she turns out not to be.
وقد رجعت ترجع رجاعا
And she became 'rajia', returning (falsely pregnant) repeatedly.
والرجاع أيضا: رجوع الطير بعد قطاعها
And 'ar-rujaa'' is also the return of birds after their departure.
والراجع: المرأة يموت زوجها فترجع إلى أهلها
And 'ar-raaji'' is the woman whose husband dies and she returns to her family.

أبيض كالرجع رسوب إذا * ما ناخ في محتفل يختلي
White like a pool of water, sinking when it rests in a gathering place that is cleared.

And 'ar-raji'' from beasts is what you return with from one journey to another, and it is the worn-out one; the female is 'raji'a', and the plural is 'rajaa'i''.
وهذا رجيع السبع ورجعه أيضا
And this is the prey of a predator and its return as well.
وربما سموا الجرة رجيعا
And sometimes they call a waterskin 'raji''.
وفلاة كأنها ظهر ترس * ليس فيها إلا الرجيع علاق
And a desert like the back of a shield, in which there is nothing but the return (of the waterskin's contents).
فعيث في الكنانة يرجع
So he rummaged in the quiver, reaching back.
هذا متاع مرجع
This is a returnable commodity.
أرجع الله بيعة فلان، كما يقال: أربح الله بيعته
May Allah make so-and-so's sale profitable (i.e., return profit), just as it is said: May Allah bless his sale.
إذا هزلت ثم سمنت
