ومننه قولهم للرجل إذا جاء متهددا: أنت مختل فتحمض.
And from it is their saying to a man when he comes threateningly: You are disturbed, so become sour/bitter.

وأحمضت الارض فهى محمضة، أي كثيرة الحمض.

Al-Tahmid: is the scarcity of something. It is said, 'So-and-so reduced for us in hospitality,' meaning he gave little.
حمضت الإبل تحمض حموضا: رعت الحمض، فهي حامضة وحوامض.
