ومات فلان جريضا، أي مغموما.
And so-and-so died jarīḍan, meaning sorrowful.
وأجرضه بريقه، أي أغصه.

والجرياض والجرواض: الضخم العظيم البطن.
And al-jiryāḍ and al-jarwāḍ: the large-bellied, the greatly-bellied.
قلت لأعرابي: ما الجرياض؟ قال: الذي بطنه كالحياض.
