وإن شئت أضفت الاول إلى الثاني فقلت: هذا حضرموت أعربت حضرا وخفضت موتا.
And if you wish, you add the first to the second and say: 'This is Hadramawt', you vocalize 'hadra' and put 'mawta' in the genitive.
وتقول في التثنية: هذان ساما أبرص، وفى الجمع: هؤلاء سوام أبرص، وإن شئت قلت البرصة والابارص، ولا تذكر سام.
And you say in the dual: 'These are two sam abras', and in the plural: 'These are sam abras', and if you wish you say 'al-barasah' and 'al-abaras', and you do not mention 'sam'.
والله لو كنت لهذا خالصا * لكنت عبدا آكل الابارصا
By God, if I were pure for this * I would be a slave eating the white patches.
