If you intend by Quraysh the clan, you decline it (for inflection), and if you intend the tribe, you do not decline it.
غلب المساميح الوليد سماحة * وكفى قريش المعضلات وسادها *
The generous ones were surpassed by Al-Walid in generosity * And he sufficed Quraysh in difficult matters and led them *
والتقريش: الاكتساب.
And Al-Taqreesh: Earning.
وتقرشوا: تجمعوا.
And they gathered: They assembled.
والتقريش، مثل التحريش، عن أبى عبيد.
And Al-Taqreesh, like Al-Tahreesh, from Abu Ubayd.
والمقرشة: السنة المحل (1) .
And Al-Miqrasheh: The year of scarcity.
وتقارشت الرماح، أي تداخلت في الحرب.
And the spears intermingled, meaning they overlapped in war.
وأقرش به إقراشا، أي سعى به ووقع فيه. حكاه يعقوب.
And he strove for it with great effort, meaning he sought it and engaged in it. Ya'qub narrated it.
