And al-kharshaa' like al-hirbaa': the snake's skin, and the upper eggshell after it is broken and what is inside comes out.
ثم يشبه به كل شئ فيه انتفاخ وتفتق وخروق.
Then everything characterized by swelling, cracking, and fissures is likened to it.
يعنى بها الرغوة.
He means by it the froth.
وقد يسمى البلغم خرشاء.
And phlegm may be called kharshaa'.
يقال: ألقى خراشي صدره.
It is said: He cast out the phlegm from his chest.
وقولهم: طلعت الشمس في خرشاء، أي في غبرة.
