فأبلغ يزيدا إن عرضت ومنذرا * وعميهما والمستسر المنامسا
So inform Yazid if you encounter him, and Mundhir, * and their two blind ones, and the one confided in.
ويقال: المنامس الداخل في الناموس.
And it is said: al-manamis is the one who enters into the namus (confidential circle).
والناموس أيضا: ما ينمس الرجل به من الاحتيال.
And al-namus also: what a man uses for deception.
وانمس الرجل، بتشديد النون، أي استتر، وهو انفعل.
And the man became hidden, with a shadda on the noon, meaning he concealed himself, and it is in the form 'inf'ala'.
والنمس بالكسر: دويبة عريضة كأنها قطعة قديد، تكون بأرض مصر، تقتل الثعبان.
And al-nims (with kasra): a broad little animal like a piece of dried meat, found in the land of Egypt, which kills snakes.
والنمس بالتحريك: فساد السمن.
And al-nams (with haraka): the spoilage of ghee.
وقد مس السمن بالكسر، أي فسد.
And the ghee became spoiled (with kasra), meaning it became corrupt.
