ويقال: بينهما رحم ماسة، أي قرابة قريبة.

And it is said: Between them is a 'rahim masah', meaning close kinship.

وقد مست بك رحم فلان، إذا كان بينكما قرابة قريبة.

And the kinship of so-and-so has 'mast' you, if there was close kinship between you.

وحاجة ماسة، أي مهمة.

And an 'hajah masah', meaning important.

وقد مست إليه الحاجة.

And the need has 'mast' him.

والمسوس من الماء: الذي بين العذب والملح.

And 'al-masus' of water is that which is between fresh and salty.

لو كنت ماء كنت لا * عذب المذاق ولا مسوسا *

If you were water, you would be neither * sweet in taste nor brackish *

والمسمسة: اختلاط الامر والتباسه، والاسم المسماس.

And 'al-masmasah' is the mixing and confusion of affairs, and the noun is 'al-masmas'.
