والمرجاس: حجر يشد في طرف الحبل ثم يدلى في البئر فيمخض الحمأة حتى تثور، ثم يستقى ذلك الماء فتنقى البئر.
And Al-Marjas: a stone tied to the end of a rope, then lowered into the well to stir the mud until it rises, then that water is drawn out and the well is cleaned.
إذا رأوا كريهة يرمون بى * رميك بالمرجاس (1) في قعر الطوى *
When they see a hardship, they throw me like your throwing with the marjas into the bottom of the well.
