والبلس بالتحريك: شئ يشبه التين يكثر باليمن.
And al-blas (with harakah): is something resembling figs that is abundant in Yemen.
وأهل المدينة يسمون المسح بلاسا، وهو فارسي معرب.
And the people of Medina call matting 'balas', and it is an Arabized Persian word.
ومن دعائهم: أرانيك الله على البلس!
And from their supplication: May God show you upon the 'balas'!
بالضم، وهي غرائر كبار من مسوح يجعل فيها التين (2) ويشهر عليها من ينكل به وينادى عليه.
