And His saying, the Almighty: {an unjust division}
أي جائرة وهى فعلى، مثل طوبى وحبلى، وإنما كسروا الضاد لتسلم الياء ; لانه ليس في الكلام فعلى صفة، وإنما هو من بناء الاسماء كالشعرى والدفلى.
Meaning unfair, and it is on the pattern 'fa'la', like 'tubba' and 'hubla'. They only broke the 'dad' so that the 'ya' would be sound; because there is no 'fa'la' pattern for an adjective in speech, rather it is from the pattern of nouns like 'al-shi'ra' and 'al-difla'.
قال الفراء: وبعض العرب يقول: ضئزى وضؤزى بالهمز.
Al-Farra' said: And some Arabs say: 'di'zi' and 'du'zi' with hamza.
وحكى أبو حاتم عن أبى زيد أنه سمع العرب تهمز ضيزى.
And Abu Hatim narrated from Abu Zayd that he heard Arabs using hamza with 'di'zi'.
