And Al-Hunbar, like Al-Khinsar: the cub of the hyena.
قال أبو زيد: من أسماء الضباع أم الهنبر، في لغة بني فزارة.
Abu Zayd said: among the names of hyenas is Umm Al-Hunbar, in the language of Banu Fazara.
يا قاتل (2) الله صبيانا تجئ بهم * أم الهنيبر من زند لها واري
May God kill the children you bring forth * Umm Al-Hunaybir from a burning ember of hers.
وقال أبو عبيد: الهنبر: الجحش.
And Abu Ubayd said: Al-Hunbar: the foal.
ومنه قيل للأتان: أم الهنبر.
And from this it is said of the female donkey: Umm Al-Hunbar.
