وَقَدِ اسْتَوْزَرَ فُلانٌ، وَهُوَ يُوَازِرُ الأَمِيرَ وَيَتَوَزَّرُ لَهُ.
And so-and-so has taken a minister, and he supports the prince and acts as minister for him.
وَاتَّزَرَ الرَّجُلُ: رَكِبَ الْمُوَزَّرَ، وَهُوَ افْتَعَلَ مِنْهُ.
And the man wore an 'izar': he rode the 'mu'awzar', which is derived from it.
وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَى
And no bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another.
أَيْ لَا تَحْمِلُ حَامِلَةٌ حِمْلَ أُخْرَى.
Meaning, no carrier shall carry the load of another.
وَقَالَ الأَخْفَشُ: لَا تَأْثَمُ آثِمَةٌ بِإِثْمِ أُخْرَى.
And Al-Akhfash said: no sinner shall sin with the sin of another.
وَإِنَّمَا قَالَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ: " مَأْزُورَاتٌ " لِمَكَانِ " مَأْجُورَاتٌ "، وَلَوْ أَفْرَدَ لَقَالَ: مُوَزَّرَاتٌ.
He only said in the hadith: 'ma'zurat' (burdened women) because of 'ma'jurat' (rewarded women); if he had used the singular form, he would have said: 'muwazzarat' (burdened).
أَبُو عَمْرٍو: وَزَرْتُ الشَّيْءَ: أَحْرَزْتُهُ.
Abu Amr: I secured the thing: I safeguarded it.
وَوَزَرْتُ فُلانًا: غَلَبْتُهُ.
And I overcame so-and-so: I defeated him.
قَدْ وَزَرَتْ جُلَّتُهَا أَمْهَارُهَا
Its mares have carried their full load.
