And it is said: 'The rabbit moved stealthily' ('wabarat al-arnab tuwayiran'), meaning it walked on rough ground.

إنما يوبر من الدواب الارنب

Only the rabbit among animals moves stealthily ('yu'bir').

هو الوبرة، لانها إذا طلبت نظرت إلى موضع حزن فوثبت عليه لئلا يتبين أثرها فيه، لصلابته

It is the 'wabarah' (truffle), because when it is sought, it looks for a hollow place and jumps onto it so its trace is not apparent, due to its firmness.

ووبر الرجل أيضا في منزله، إذا أقام حينا لا يبرح

And a man also stayed ('wabara') in his home, if he remained for a while without leaving.
