قال: وجمعها مصائر، مثل قلائص.

He said: And its plural is 'maṣā'ir', like 'qalā'iṣ'.

وقال العدبس: جمعها مصار، مثل قلاص.

And al-'Adabis said: Its plural is 'maṣār', like 'qilāṣ'.

والمصور: الناقة التي يتمصر لبنها، أي يحلب قليلا قليلا، لأن لبنها بطئ الخروج.

And 'al-muṣawwir' is a she-camel whose milk is slow to come out, meaning it is milked little by little because its milk is slow to exit.

ويقال: مصرت العنز تمصيرا، أي صارت مصورا.

And it is said: 'Maṣṣarat al-'anaz tamṣīran', meaning she became a 'muṣawwir' (slow-milking goat).

ابن السكيت: يقال: نعجة ماصرة، ولجبة (2) ، وجدود، وعزوز، أي قليلة اللبن.

Ibn al-Sikkit said: It is said, 'Na'ajah māṣirah', and 'lajbah', 'judūd', and 'ʿazūz', meaning low-milk yielding.

وفلان مصر الأمصار، كما يقال مدن المدائن.

And 'so-and-so is the miṣr of the amṣār', just as one says 'mudun al-madā'in' (cities of the metropolises).
