وكل شئ غطى شيئا فقد كفره.

ومن سمي الكافر، لأنه يستر نعم الله عليه.
And the disbeliever is so named because he conceals the blessings of God upon him.

أكفرت الرجل، أي دعوته كافرا.

لا تكفر أحدا من أهل القبلة
Do not call anyone from the people of the Qibla a disbeliever.
والتكفير: أن يخضع الإنسان لغيره، كما يكفر العلج للدهاقين

وإذا سمعت بحرب قيس بعدها * فضعوا السلاح وكفروا تكفيرا
And if you hear of a war with Qays after that, * then lay down your arms and submit in submission.

And takfir of an oath: is doing what is obligatory upon breaking it.

والتكفير في المعاصي، كالإحباط في الثواب.
And expiation for sins is like the nullification of reward.
الكافور: الطلع.
Al-kafur: is the spathe (of a palm tree).
هو وعاء طلع النخل.
It is the sheath of the palm's spathe.
وكذلك الكفرى.
And likewise al-kufra.
والكافور من الطيب.
And al-kafur is from perfumes.

From reeds where the deer grazes on the fragrant substance.
والكفر بكسر الفاء: العظيم من الجبال
