وقهر اللحم أيضا، إذا أخذته النار وسال ماؤه.
And meat is also 'qahr' when fire affects it and its juices flow out.
ويقال: أخذت فلانا قهرة بالضم، أي اضطرارا.
And it is said: I took so-and-so by force (qahra), meaning by compulsion.
والقهقرى: الرجوع إلى خلف.
And al-qahqara is: moving backward.
فإذا قلت: رجعت القهقرى، فكأنك قلت: رجعت الرجوع الذي يعرف بهذا الاسم، لأن القهقرى ضرب من الرجوع.
And if you say: I returned al-qahqara, it is as if you said: I made the kind of return known by this name, because al-qahqara is a type of return.
والقهقرى بتشديد الراء: الحجر الصلب.
And al-qahqara with a stressed 'ra' is: hard stone.
وكان أحمد بن يحيى يقول وحده: القهقار.
